Spring 2024-Week 6

Hi Everyone, This week has been relatively exhausting. Most of this week was spent studying, driving my robot, and getting as much homework done before the weekend as possible. Why, you may ask...? ROBOTICS COMP TIME! The robotics team will drive to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo this weekend for a robotics competition. This is my first in-person competition, and I'm excited and nervous. As a driver, I think that if I don't do well, I'll let the team down. I'm glad to be back in the lab next week. It will be a nice cool down from this week's hustle and bustle. (here's my robot, prime :))

Spring 2024-Week 5

Hi Everyone, I hope everyone's week is going well. Monday off, although nice, threw off my entire schedule. I feel like I've been playing catch-up most of this week. I also feel like time is moving mega fast. I'm already preparing for midterms for my math class while finishing the first exams for my science and anthropology classes. And...still waiting on the conga red for my project. I really wanted to be deep into my research by now. I also won't get much time for research next week as I'll be in California for a robotics competition. On a more positive note, I've been squeezing in time to read and finish a book. Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood. It's a STEM romance, and I recommend the author to anyone who enjoys dorkish, lighthearted romance. Below is a different book I've started, and it's the first non-fiction science book I've read. Also, I would recommend it.

Spring 2024-Week 4

Hi Everyone, Happy Valentine's to those who celebrate. This week has been a busy week. Most of my time was spent in class and in sophomore square helping the robotics club in the Valentine's Day market. We sold a lot of 3d printed objects, one being 3D printed roses. (picture below)I'm making the final touches on my research proposal while also writing the procedure for my experiment. Unfortunately, the stuff I've been waiting for has to be reordered. This is the longest I've gone in TRAIN without doing anything for my research, which makes me a little anxious, but I know it will all come together in the end.

Spring 2024-Week 3

Hello Everyone, I hope everyone's week is going well. This week was another week of getting homework out of the way. I'm still waiting for supplies but have begun to plate Pseudomonas aeruginosa. I plan to plate and test more biofilm-forming bacteria. However, since this is my first time working with pseudomonas, I want to get a feel for how it typically looks and grows. This weekend, the Robotics team will be competing at ASU. Even though I can't attend, I'm super excited for the team.
